Nail fungus (onychomycosis) is a condition caused by the presence of a fungus living underneath the nail bed of a finger or toe. The fungus (dermatophyte) houses itself under the nail for protection and that cool and protected area provides the perfect condition to grow.

Infected nails must be treated for a substantial amount of time before all of the fungi have been eliminated. Our suggested treatment time is between 3-6 months, although there are plenty of cases that are shorter, and longer.
